Many of you know that after 43 years following my passion of interior design I am embarking on that thing called retirement. My husband Bob who played a huge part in our business, handling all of the fine details in the field, is already checking out this unfamiliar journey. He has many loves that will keep him busy but for me, creating beautiful interiors and working with various design-build teams was my love and pastime making this feel like Star Trek where the Starship Enterprise takes the crew to places where no one has gone before.
Bob and I have several grandchildren and I think we can play and important role in their development especially now that we have practiced on our two grown children.
All of that said, I have been one of the most blessed individuals on the planet. Most people either never experience a calling or miss their calling until time passes them by.
There are many avenues to consider in our field of design but over the years it became clear to me that clients build trust with their designer and want to rely on them from the concept through the completion.
When presented with a challenging project I oftentimes would digest the essence of what the client wanted and would literally sleep on it for days or even weeks. This process always provided me with a vision that was outside the box and exciting.
I have no regrets. I have been rewarded with satisfied clients and in turn a steady stream of referrals who look to us for that special, one-of-a-kind project built just for them.
It is now time to pass the baton to the new owner Lloyd Griffin, successful in his own right for many years both in Chicagoland and now Arizona. Lloyd with his team of professionals will continue to serve the upper crust population of our great Tucson and beyond.
Between Lloyd’s and my mentoring, the projects and results will just keep getting more creative and well executed.
Thank you to all of my clients, especially those who have come back numerous times so that I could experience the joy of creating a space just for you. You are all wonderful and I hope to continue to see you in our great city.
